Welcome to the St. Albans Tae Kwon Do School website. Along with our sister club in Hemel Hempstead, we are all authentic, licensed clubs of the International Tae Kwon Do Federation under the guidance of Mr. Chang Ung. Our clubs are proud that all our members only receive I.T.F. certification for exams taken under us. This move means that all students are Internationally registered Black Belts, unlike most other clubs in the area.
We operate under the main plaque no. 5631, which is renewed every December. All coaches are Criminal Records Bureau (C.R.B.) checked and first aid trained every two years.
We are not governed by the Tae Kwon Do Council, as we will not get involved with political groups as many do not deliver what they claim. We are members of Active St. Albans and proud to promote the coat of arms for the city where our schools reside in.
We are the only group of clubs in the area that insist students from other clubs that want to join us take a three month break from Tae Kwon Do, as we do not agree on poaching members and harming other clubs. However, in some situations, we will take you on. Please speak to the enrolments officer who will advise you accordingly.

In 1994, Chris (our senior coach pictured, inset) was a very successful tournament contender, gaining gold, silver and bronze medal placements at national level. 17 years later, the schools are still running and have produced over 100 national champions, including European and World medalists at St. Albans Tae Kwon Do school - we have also helped raise over £12,000 to worthy charities. Senior Instructor Chris is now a registered 6th Degree under the International Tae Kwon Do Federation (I.T.F.) and the founder of the L.T.S.I., a U.K. group we are members of. His day job is web design and running a Mobile Disco service. Chris says running the schools are a way to help his communities, whether young and old in one way or another. |
